All the sellers want to make a viral advertisement today. This is the perfect warranty that their product or service which they offer will benefit of maximum exposure and the chances for the sales to rise are tremendously high. These are a few tricks for how to create a viral advertisement:

Use humor

The majority of viral advertisements use humor. It’s advisable to use humor in all your advertisements unless you sell luxury products. You can use humor for that too but you need to ask for the experts’ opinion first, and the experts would be some specialized advertising agencies.

Make it lively

Man is bombed with advertisements from every direction. Human brain has the tendency to not pay attention to unimportant details, that’s why boring advertisements will stay in the background while the lively and cleverly made advertisements that create an impact will be easily remembered.

Don’t be afraid to impact

Most of the times when people fail to make a viral advertisement is because their message may not have had enough impact. It’s a sensitive matter for how much impact should an advertisement have in order to be noticed by the viewers and how little impact for it to have in order to be perceived in a positive way. The simplest recipe for a viral advertisement is to use a completely new strategy. If your competitors don’t get out of the common sense pattern, in order to make a viral advertisement you should use another approach – presenting the situation with clever humor will soften any viewer’s heart and tendency for criticism.

In the picture presented here, you can see an advertisement that does just that. The online advertisement is for a commodity consumer good – a snow blower. The person who has created it has previously noticed that most advertisement in that category are mostly informational. He followed another pattern in order to get the attention and he succeeded. In order to understand the impact of this advertisement, look at some snow blower reviews on snowblowers.reviews. You will see that while the reviews are very well researched and organized, they have a cold and informal approach. As you can see from the picture, the funny snoblower add has has over 400,000 views. This is beyond impressive, considering the fact that this is a personal add. Now, this doesn’t mean that you must throw professionalism out the window, but keep in mind that humor sells great.

Be true

When you create your advertisement promise you must choose one that is true and consistent with the personality of your business and product. Even if you exaggerate your promise, make it funny, honest, confident and take responsibility for your attitude. An example for an advertisement that had a huge impact yet without using humor is the Dior J’Adore video ad “The Future is Gold”.

Use a touch of sexiness only if you don’t have another choice

There is no mystery that sex sells. It’s nice to not go with this strategy unless you don’t really have another choice. Using a touch of sexiness in your ads may make it viral but there will always be people who will blame this artifice and this may lead to creating negative advertising. An example for a viral advertisement would be the SodaStream video ad – too bad it was banned.

Be extremely clever or extremely dumb

Negative advertisement is still advertisement after all. Depending on which is the thing that you want to raise the awareness for, the negative advertisement could tremendously work as well.
